Mr. Keith Oberman, (cc Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews, surrogate spinners, etc)
I have despite my better judgement on policy, decided to embrace our new president and cheer for his success. I have found a "better angel" in myself since election day that wants MY president and MY country to succeed. I devoted the better part of my life to serving and sacrificed deeply.
You, sir, however, remain a bitter partisan who shouldn't be given a bullhorn on the corner of 5th street let alone our public airwaves to spew your hatred any longer. There is a reason when President Bush entered the dais today he was greeted with boos and "Nah, nah nah hey hey goodbye". That reason is you, your network and those of your ilk.
When you find humor in VP Cheney being in a a wheelchair.... When you so viscerally have hatred in your heart that you find satisfaction in another human being's pain and suffering - then you and your network should no longer be given a platform to spew such venom. You do President Obama, your party, and our nation no service with this kind of insane anger and hysterical rhetoric.
"Nah, nah, nah nah hey hey goodbye" belongs in a sports arena: not the dignified platform of inauguration day and the peaceful, majestic transfer of power in the greatest country on God's green earth. This is what you've created with antics like "worst person of the world" Mr. Oberman. You and your cohorts threaten to dash my spirit of bipartisanship and the best hopes and aspirations for our country because you are a one trick pony that feeds on oats of hate and division.
People like you and your cohorts make your living cynically stirring up division in our country. Enough is enough Mr. Oberman. Take your "Bush'ed" and your "Worst Person's in the World" segments away and find something more productive to do with the unique and vast exposure you've been afforded. Take your show once a week to middle America and instead of complaining about all that's not being done, get your hands dirty helping to make it better.... Put down your pom poms and pick up a shovel.
Whatever you do, take your simplistic sports mentality of win or lose outside the lines of my patriotism please.
